These paintings are all of birds in our garden over the years up in the vineyards above lac Léman (lake Géneva). The hoopoes came to check us out for nesting almost every year but chose us only once. They are delightful, elegant and scruffy all at the same time and should only be painted quickly to emphasise the scruffiness. The black redstart was our constant companion.
