I discovered the first Corn Husk people when I was living in Zimbabwe. They were sold by locals at the market and by the side of the road.
I later found out more about their American origin. It really started with slaves who were making these little dolls for their children once they had harvested the fields. There are of course legends of those dolls that would bring good luck to the farmers for their crops.
I have only recently started making them and really enjoy the diversity of people you can create, just with corn leaves.
